Imagine England before the Roman Empire. Now pair it up with black metal and you have Winterfylleth. Unlike most pagan black metal bands, Winterfylleth creates a Celtic sort of atmosphere rather than a Viking one. Hollenthon is tough to classify as one genre. The Metal Archives even gives them four genres! Combining melodeath, orchestras, and Middle Eastern and European folk music, the band has managed to create a truly unique sound. Domus Mundi is the first of three albums released by Hollenthon.

Normally, I would praise a Swedish metal band for being insanely heavy death metal. However, Setherial is some of the best black metal I've ever heard. Sure they aren't the most original, but they certainly do an amazing job playing grim, icy, frostbitten, epic black metal.
