You just gotta love the name of this band. So far, Mistur's only release is a demo entitled Skoddefjellet. The music on this demo sounds like a cross between Emperor and Windir. However, this is not really suprising. After all, lead guitarist Stian Bakketeig played in Windir.
1) Sumar 2) Heimferdi 3) Skoddefjellet 4) Natt ved Kyndilstjern
Sorry for making you wait so long for another album. Now that I'm posting stuff again, I'll start with one of my favorite albums from this year so far, Legion of the Damned's Feel the Blade. Legion of the Damned, originally known as Occult, is a dutch deathrash band. The best thing about them is the fact they're fucking brutal. Feel the Blade is a reissue of the band's album Elegy for the Weak which was released when the band still went by the name Occult. However, the tracklisting on this album is different and there are also three bonus tracks: "Last Command," "Mask of Terror," and "Chronic Infection."
1) Nuclear Torment 2) Nocturnal Predator 3) Slaughtering the Pigs 4) Slut of Sodom 5) Feel the Blade 6) Expire 7) Warbeast 8) Disturbing the Dead 9) Obsessed by the Grave 10) Reaper's Call
Seven deadly sins, seven ways to win Seven holy paths to hell and your trip begins Seven downward slopes, seven bloodied hopes Seven are you burning fires, seven your desires...
1) Moonchild 2) Infinite Dreams 3) Can I Play With Madness? 4) The Evil That Men Do 5) Seventh Son of a Seventh Son 6) The Prophecy 7) The Clairvoyant 8) Only The Good Die Young
Right now I'm feeling too lazy to write a fancy review for this album, so here: Orhphaned Land mixes death metal, progressive metal, and Middle Eastern folk music to create their unique sound. Aside from the traditional instruments used in heavy metal, Orphaned Land uses Arabic and Balkan stringed instruments such as the saz, the bouzouki, and the oud. Sahara is the band's first full-length release as well as my favorite album by them.
1) The Sahara's Storm 2) Blessed Be Thy Hate 3) Ornaments of Gold 4) Aldiar Al Mukadisa 5) Seasons Unite 6) The Beloved's Cry 7) My Requiem 8) Orphaned Land, The Storm Still Rages Inside
Recently the word "epic" has been used so much that it has lost its meaning. However, A Diamond For Disease truly deserves to be called epic. Running thirteen minutes long, this is the most excellent song that singer and guitarist James Malone has written. The track fades in from ambiance and into an unforgettable melody. After a full assault of complex riffs, effectively placed breakdowns and two solos, the songs ends with a tune reminiscent of the one the song began with. This EP of the same title also contains an Alice Cooper cover ("Roses On White Lace") and another original song ("The Promise Of Never").
1) A Diamond For Disease 2) Roses On White Lace 3) The Promise Of Never
Zombies, beer, and thrash. What more could you ask for? For the best listening experience, play on full blast and try to give yourself whiplash.
PS- Earache Records fucking owns and you know it.

Seriously, what is it about Italians that makes them so awesome when it comes to extreme metal? Out of all the countries in the world, Italy has some of the best thrashers right after Germany and the United States. Death Mechanism is the epitome of retro thrash. After 25 seconds of heartbeats, the opening riffs of "Anthropic Collapse" tell you that this band is heavily the German "Big 3" (Kreator, Destruction, and Sodom). Then come the lyrics, which are typical thrash lyrics about death, war, destruction, politics, etc. Hell, the band was formerly known as O.D.O. which stands for Odio, Distruzione, Orrore meaning "Hate, Destruction, Horror" in Italian. Finally, the promo picture featuring all three members in black band t-shirts, denim vests and bullet belts. Despite this obvious worship of the old-school, Death Mechanism manages to be one of my favorite thrash bands of the new century and Human Error...Global Terror one of my favorite albums of the year so far. Is this album creative and original? Nope. Is this album great headbanging material? Fuck yeah!
1) Intro 2) Anthropic Collapse 3) Necrotechnology 4) Blood Engine 5) Genuin-cide 6) Contaminated Soil 7) Unknown Pathology 8) A Good Reason To Kill 9) The Frail Path of Peace 10) War Mechanism 11) Slaughter in the Jetset

So basically I'm not allowed to post albums from those labels or I get sued. So far I haven't had to remove anything from this site, but on my other blog we had to take down the Amaseffer and Motorhead releases.
Holy shit. There's only word that can describe this album: disgusting. It's brutal and makes you want to headbang and maybe even destroy something. But at the same time, it's so fucking nasty that you stare in awe and start to wonder who the hell came up with this idea. With thirty eight tracks, all under two minutes, overly carnal lyrics and deep gurgly vocals, this something you either love or hate.
1) The Pulsating Feast 2) Domination Through Mutilation 3) Escortservice of the Dead 4) Obscene Body Slayings 5) Fecal Freak 6) Humiliated in Your Own Blood 7) Just Another Stillborn 8) Parade of the Decapitated Midgets 9) Ruptured Remains in a Doggybag 10) Copious Head Carnage 11) Carnivorous Erection 12) Relentless Pursuit of Rotting Flesh 13) Swallow the Human Filth 14) Dismantle the Afterbirth 15) Choked in Shit 16) Funeral Genocide 17) Rancid Head of Splatter 18) Rage Against Humanity 19) To Boil a Corpse 20) Bloody Pile of Human Waste 21) Drenched in Cattleblood 22) Carbonated Death 23) Skull of Shit and Sludge 24) Desperate Need for Violation 25) 37 Stabwounds 26) Vomified (Regurgitated to the Core) 27) Headless She Died 28) Breath Like Rotten Meat 29) I Wanna Kill 30) Claw-Hammer Castration 31) Festering Embryonic Vomit 32) Smeared With Bloodmixed Semen 33) You're About to Fuckin' Die 34) Stinking Genital Warts 35) Pyronecrobestiality 36) Selfdisembowelment 37) Savage Gorewhore 38) The Combustion and Consumption of Pyorrheic Waste
Looking for something similar to Finntroll? Well here it is. Arkona has a sound similar to the many Scandinavian folk metal bands, but they manage to distinguish themselves from the rest of the crowd. However, just like your average folk metal band, Arkona sings about folktales and mythology from their own country. And if that's not enough, they sing in Russian. Want to know what the song titles mean? Too bad. I don't speak Russian.
1) Pokrovy Nebesnogo Startsa 2) Goy, Kupala 3) Ot Serdtsa K Nebu 4) Oy, Pechal-Toska 5) Gutsulka 6) Strela 7) Nad Propastyu Let 8) Slavsya Rus 9) Kupala I Komstroma 10) Tsigular 11) Sva 12) Katitsya Kolo
So I finally got off my ass (not literally of course) and found an underground band for all you people that actually check this site. You like Belphegor and Dissection? Vidres a la Sang plays a type of blackened death metal similar to those bands. Also, this band sings in Spanish. At last, a metal band with Spanish lyrics that isn't even slightly cheesy!
1) Amb Tota Rancúnia 2) Els Límits de la Creació 3) Identitat 4) Negre Destí, Roja Venjança 5) Torna al teu Clos 6) Tots els Paisatges són Iguals
