There haven't been too many great melodeath releases in the past couple of years. However, Be'lakor's Stone's Reach is among the few recent melodeath albums that won't (or at least shouldn't) be forgotten. Instead of going for the usual Children of Bodom, In Flames or Arsis styles, Be'lakor plays something similar to Opeth's Blackwater Park and the legendary Heartwork and Slaughter of the Soul. The only complaint I have about this album is the average song length, which is hardly a problem and is canceled out by the band's mastery of the genre.1) Venator2) From Scythe to Sceptre3) Outlive the Hand4) Sun's Delusion5) Held in Hollows6) Husks7) Aspect8) Countless SkiesMyspaceDownload
If there's one thing that makes me happy, it's when a melodeath band has balls, just like Ignominious Incarceration. It almost sounds like Amon Amarth meets Suffocation.1) Avarice2) Deeds of Days Long Gone3) Elegance in Aggression4) Saviour5) Of Winter Born6) Solitude7) Dynasty Damnation8) Tide of Pestilence9) In the Face of Absolution10) Elusion of MortalityMyspaceDownload

Here's Otkroveniya Dozhdya, a Russian band whose name I can't remember for shit. These guys play a melodic style of funeral doom.MyspaceDownload
So I'm finally back to the underground albums. This time we have Warbreed from Argentina. Simply put, melodeath that'll be kicking your ass for an hour. You can thank my recent interest in WWI and WWII for this. This album specifically follows Germany and the Soviet Union in World War II.1) The Hidden Legacy2) Nightfall Over Auschwitz3) Sippenhaft4) Алый Снег (Blood-Red Snow)5) Silence and the Beast6) The Forging [of Glory and Decay - Part I]7) The Hour Of The Wolf [of Glory and Decay - Part II]8) Farewell Germania [of Glory and Decay - Part III]9) The Spandau Enigma10) A Little Lesson Of History11) The Homecoming12) Another Unknown Soldier13) Rotterdam In Flames14) Bound For Ultima Thule15) Rendition of The TruthMyspaceDownload
Once again, I'm posting material made by a friend of mine. My buddy Arafat lives in Bangladesh and is the vocalist for two bands: Auflader and Zero Burn. Auflader is a melodeath project, whereas Zero Burn is deathrash with a hint of groove. Both bands are totally awesome!1) Deathlike Silence- Auflader2) Reign- Zero Burn

Hollenthon is tough to classify as one genre. The Metal Archives even gives them four genres! Combining melodeath, orchestras, and Middle Eastern and European folk music, the band has managed to create a truly unique sound. Domus Mundi is the first of three albums released by Hollenthon.
1) Enrapture (Hinc Illae Lacrimæ)2) Homage (Magni Nominis Umbra)3) Vestige (Non Omnis Moriar)4) Lure (Pallida Mors)
5) Interlude (Ultima Ratio Regum)

Let's make a deal, a diamond for disease...Recently the word "epic" has been used so much that it has lost its meaning. However, A Diamond For Disease truly deserves to be called epic. Running thirteen minutes long, this is the most excellent song that singer and guitarist James Malone has written. The track fades in from ambiance and into an unforgettable melody. After a full assault of complex riffs, effectively placed breakdowns and two solos, the songs ends with a tune reminiscent of the one the song began with. This EP of the same title also contains an Alice Cooper cover ("Roses On White Lace") and another original song ("The Promise Of Never"). 1) A Diamond For Disease2) Roses On White Lace3) The Promise Of NeverMyspaceDownload (Mediafire)Download (Megaupload)
Although they are a progressive metal band now, Amorphis was once a melodic death metal band (featuring keyboards of course). And like every good band, they fuse elements of other genres into their music. In this case it's folk and doom metal. The title Tales From The Thousand Lakes is very appropriate considering that the lyrics on this album are based off of the Kalevala, a collection of Finnish folklore compiled by Elias Lönnrot and one of the most important pieces of Finnish literature. Take all of that stuff, put it all together, and you have a truly amazing album.Fun Fact: Amorphis was the first band added to the Metal Archives....What's so fun about a fun fact?1) Thousand Lakes2) Into Hiding3) The Castaway4) First Doom5) Black Winter Day6) Drowned Maid7) In the Beginning8) Forgotten Sunrise9) To Father's Cabin10) Magic and MayhemMyspaceDownload (Mediafire)Download (Megaupload)
